11.1 External Reference Labels for Excel

This appendix is a comprehensive listing of the labels required for linking time-series and defaults for whole elements in STEM to data in Excel through button formulae. For example:

'MODEL.XLS'!InterpSeries

'MODEL.XLS'!Resource

'MODEL.XLS'!"ResourceLabels,ResourceValues"

For more details, see 6.3 Linking input data from Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. These labels are also presented in two Microsoft Excel spreadsheets which are supplied with STEM – MODEL.XLS.

When constructing sheets of your own, you only need include labels for the fields you want to set, and the order is not important. Some more compact examples are provided in EXAMPLE.XLS. EXCEL.DTL is a sample model which contains references to both sheets.

Alternatively, you can use the Export Model Data feature in the STEM Editor to provide these fields for you.

Note: Any time-series field which is represented as xyz.Constant can also be represented as xyz.ExpGrowth.Base and xyz.ExpGrowth.Mult, or xyz.InterpSeries.Period and xyz.InterpSeries.Value, and so on. These time-series fields are shown in italic.
