8.2 Working with an eSTEM model

A trained modeller will use the C-STEM desktop software:

  • to create the original STEM model files for any such user interface
  • to export a model configuration file that governs which model inputs and outputs will be accessible by the eSTEM application
  • to generate the HTML5 web content which will communicate with the eSTEM application ‘out of the box’.

STEM model files and corresponding model configuration are uploaded to an ‘offline folder’ only accessed via the controlled interface of the eSTEM web service, while the front-end web content is uploaded to an ‘online folder’ and served via standard web-server components – see 8.2.3 The process for publishing a model with eSTEM.
