Transformation / Other Details

Among other things, Transformations are used to cause the installation of equipment when this is not directly dependent on Service demand. The simplest example of this is when one piece of equipment must be installed for every unit of another type of equipment.

Label

The text used to identify an element in the Results program when selecting elements to draw on a graph and for labelling the subsequent graphs. If the Label is blank, the element name is used instead.

You can group a number of sensitivity parameters by giving them all the same Label. They will then be treated as a single group in the Results program.

There is also a global Label field which is just used within the Editor as an overall description for the model.

Default: none.

Churn

In this grouped part of the dialog, you enter the details of how, if at all, you want the Transformation to respond to Churn.

Churn Resources

A choice of whether the effective Churn Proportion for a Transformation is passed onto the Resource Requirements for that Transformation.

No: the capacity of Resources used by the Transformation is not churned.

Yes: the effective Churn Proportion is applied to the capacity of Resources used by the Transformation.

Default: No.

Pass On Churn

A choice of whether the effective Churn Proportion for a Transformation is passed on to any other Transformations which take this Transformation as an Input.

No: the Output of this Transformation has no associated churn when used as an Input to another Transformation.

Yes: the effective Churn Proportion of this Transformation is used in the calculation of the effective Churn Proportion for another Transformation which takes this Transformation as an Input.

Default: No.

Cost Breakdown (2)

A choice of whether STEM stores the Service allocated cost results broken down by individual contributing Resources.

No: allocated cost results are not stored for this element. If a Service is excluded, no allocations will be available for that Service. If a Resource is excluded, its contribution to any given Service allocation will be hidden.

Yes: allocated cost results are stored.

Default: Yes.

Switched Off

A choice governing whether a service, resource, transformation or function is excluded from the model, in order to study the effect of its removal.

No: the element is included in the model.

Yes: the element is excluded from the model.

Default: No.
