5.20.3 Limiting the results available in a configuration

STEM calculates a lot of results, many of which may be of no interest to you for a particular modelling project. You can limit the results that are immediately available by modifying the configuration. STEM is shipped with a default configuration file that provides the most commonly required graph definitions (see 5.2 Drawing graphs) and makes all the standard results available for new graphs (see 5.2.4 Selecting individual results).

By reducing the numbers of results available in a configuration, you limit the number of results to choose from in the various Results list boxes. This may reduce the number of pre-defined graphs you can draw, as any graphs which include a given result will be removed if that result is made unavailable. However, it will then be easier to define new graph definitions from the limited set of results of particular relevance to your project – see 5.13 Defining graphs and tables.

In order to limit the number of results available in a configuration:

  1. Select Select Results from the Config menu. The Select Results Available dialog is displayed.
  2. For each type of result, select the results you are not interested in, and move them to the Unavailable list box. If there are any graph definitions which include any of these results, you will be prompted to confirm the deletion of these graph definitions.

Note: This command is only available when there are no graphs visible.
