STEM help / Distributable STEM

7.2.3 Distributing a run-time model

When you export a run-time model (by selecting Create Run-Time Model… from the File menu), all the files are placed in a single export directory, thus expediting distribution of the model and re-distributable software components to end-users. All the files can simply be copied, e.g., to writeable CD media, or uploaded to a network server.

The following section – 7.3 Run-time end-user documentation – should give end-users a general introduction to understanding and running STEM, but you may well want to add model-specific notes of your own. In particular, you might wish to explain the intended use of the model, and to highlight the key inputs which an end-user should consider varying. In addition, if you are using the STEM Add-In for Microsoft Excel, then you should reproduce or draw specific attention to the portability notes at the end of section 7.3.6 Running STEM from Excel.
