Improvements were made to error reporting in STEM 7.4 with the introduction of error tooltips, shown right next to the field responsible for an error.

In many cases, a simple numeric constant is self-explanatory, but some conditions are less obvious. We have revisited the text of some messages, and now a Help button 
appears when it is impractical to convey a complete explanation of the issue in the space available. The Help button takes you directly to the relevant topic in our online help resource, but is only available when required, and not for self-explanatory error messages.
