3.6 Building a model

In Windows, select the Start menu, locate the Programs/STEM menu, then click on the STEM Editor item.

The following windows appear on the screen: the STEM Model Editor and inside that a window entitled Model 1 – View 1. (If no view window appears, click on New under the File menu.)

The STEM Model Editor window

You will notice that the Run Period dialog is also open. This dialog appears whenever you create a new model, and acts as a reminder to enter the length of the model run.

Note: You can change this default behaviour by de-selecting Run Period for New Model from the Options menu.

For the purposes of this exercise, select Close from the Run Period dialog menu bar. We will come back to this item later.
