2.3.11 Delivery model for video

Our model assumes that video content for a number of channels is streamed over the core network to a video server at the exchange, and that individual video sessions are streamed on demand from the exchange to the user over the local access network (either DSL or WiMAX).

Previously, in Exercise 10: Dimensioning for video streams, we quickly reviewed the different video bandwidth calculations for backhaul, without considering the associated infrastructure. We will re-visit these inputs first and then look at how the server is dimensioned.
