As well as the list of pre-defined graphs, you can also choose from the complete list of defined results, in order to create a temporary definition for a graph:
- Select the Draw New… command from the Graphs menu. The Edit Graph Definition dialog appears.
The Edit Graph Definition dialog
- Select the type of result for which you wish to define the results graph from the Type of result list. The Results list box displays the results associated with the type of result you have selected.
- Select the results you want to appear on the graph. If you do not select any results, or if you give the graph the same name as one which already exists, STEM will display an Error Message ‘Bad graph definition – nothing to draw’.
- Press Enter or click OK. The graph is displayed.
There are various additional options in the Edit Graph Definition dialog; these are described in detail in Creating a new graph definition, which also explains how to add new graph definitions to the configuration. In particular, if you leave the graph definition title blank, the resulting graph will take its title from the number of results you choose and the element type from which you choose them, for example, ‘2 results from Network’. The temporary definition of this graph is not saved in the current configuration file and there is no option to save it.
