Data dialogs are arranged as a series of hierarchical dialogs associated with individual elements or with data which affects the model as a whole. There are several methods of displaying them. For the purposes of this introduction, we will use the method of double-clicking on an icon. You can also right-click on an icon, select the icon and press <Enter>, right-click or double-click on a link between icons, or select the appropriate item from the Data menu. For details, see 4.5 Working with data dialogs and tables.
Double-clicking on an icon displays the pop-up menu associated with that element. The pop-up menus are structured so that the first grouping of items gives access to the essential data dialogs. The lower groupings are concerned with more advanced modelling features.
You can access dialogs which contain data that influence the whole model (global data, rather than specific elements) by double-clicking or right-clicking in a blank area of the view window, or from the Data menu.
