5.11.4 Modifications to fixed views

Unlike the abrupt behaviour of earlier versions of STEM, now when you switch away from a fixed view, View 1, any changes are optionally retained as an unfixed copy, View 1 modified 20141001 1030 (local time), which you can review later. By default, the Results program prompts you to retain any changes each time.

If you select No, the changes are discarded. Press Cancel to stay on the fixed view and decide subsequently how to fix these changes (if at all).

If you find this recurrent prompt annoying, then select Retain Changes to Fixed Views from the Options menu to review the alternative behaviours shown in Figure 2 below.

Note: select Discard Without Prompt to make fixed views work as they did in STEM 7.3.
