In addition to simple connection and reconnection, there are other aspects of churn that can be dealt with using STEM. Churn allows you to model the situation where customers move from one place to another, leaving unused equipment in one place, but requiring new equipment at the place to which they move. Additionally, churn enables you to allow for any adjustments necessary to convert the equipment from serving one customer to serving another.
