STEM displays the results of the search at the bottom of the dialog.
The results of a search ordered by Element
- The first result match is selected and the matching text is highlighted. If the match is the name of an element or a text box, then that element or text box is selected; the appropriate view is opened if necessary. (If an element is not currently in any views, then STEM will ask if the element should be opened in a temporary view.) If a field name or data matches, then the corresponding dialog is opened.
- You can step through each result match using the Next and Previous buttons (or using <F3>
and <Shift + F3>, respectively). Each element or text box is selected, or dialog opened, in turn.
- For In Views and Everywhere searches, you can group results by either view or by element using the Order by option.
- To show the selected element in a new view, click the Show in a New View button.
- If you change the model while the Find dialog is open, STEM will remove any results that no longer match (e.g., if you delete an element or change a field). However, the converse is not true: new matches will not be added until you click the Find All button again.
