When you create a new model element in the Editor, the corresponding input fields assume default values, which are displayed in data dialogs as grey numbers or text. When you enter a value, overriding the default for that field, the new value is displayed in black; and if you enter a formula, its result is displayed in red – see 4.12 Creating formulae and internal references.
