4.3.3 Creating a view

When you first create a model with the File/New command, the Editor automatically creates a blank view, then adds icons as you create model elements. Initially this view is called View 1, but if you wish, you can rename it:

  1. Select Rename from the View menu. This displays the Rename View dialog.
  2. Type in the new name. (It must be different from the names of any other views of this model.)

When your model gets bigger, it can be useful to create several, separate views. For example, you might choose to present the detail of the model in a number of discrete chunks, with one central view providing an overview. Alternatively, you can use multiple views to present different perspectives of a model – see 4.19 Working with multiple views.
